Atlantic Coast Line Company ist der Name einer Gesellschaft, die eines der großen Eisenbahnnetze im Süden und Osten der Vereinigten Staaten beherrscht. Die Gesellschaft ist im Jahre 1889 nach den Gesetzen des Staates Connecticut begründet worden zu dem Zwecke, um einen gemeinsamen Betrieb der in diesem Gebiete belegenen Eisenbahnen zu ermöglichen. Sie erwarb daher zunächst die Mehrheit der Aktien der Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company, deren Linien sich von Richmond (Virginia) südlich der Küste des Atlantischen Ozeans entlang bis in die südöstlichen Teile von Florida erstrecken und alle die dort belegenen Hafenplätze berühren, von denen sich wieder Seitenlinien nach Westen ab zweigen. Die Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company besaß bereits die Mehrheit der Aktien der im Westen angrenzenden Louisville- und Nashville-Eisenbahn, die nunmehr gleichfalls unter die Leitung der Atlantic Coast Line fiel und deren Gebiet sich weit nach Westen, nach den Staaten Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee und Kentucky aus dehnte. Die Gesamtlänge der von der Obergesellschaft (Holding Company, s.d.) beherrschten Linie betrug (September 1910) 18.370 km. Darunter hat die Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company 7230 km, die Louisvile- und Nashvile- 7390 km und die Nashville-Chattanooga- und St.-Louis-Eisenbahn 1980 km, die übrigen Strecken sind kleine Seiten- und Verbindungsbahnen. Das tatsächlich eingezahlte Aktienkapital der Atlantic Coast Line Company beträgt 5 Mill. Doll., das Anlagekapital der unter ihrer Oberleitung stehen den übrigen Eisenbahnen dagegen 725 Mill. Doll.
