Great North of Scotland (333 engl. Meilen = 536 km), Bahngesellschaft mit dem Sitz in Aberdeen, die die nordöstliche Ecke Schottlands beherrscht, ihre Hauptlinie führt von Aberdeen nach Elgin und Lossiemouth.

Von dieser Hauptlinie zweigen ab nach Norden die Linien Dyce Junction-Maud Junction-Peterhead und Maud Junction-Fraserburgh, dann Inverurie-Old Meldrum, Inveramsa Junc-tion-Macduff und Tillynaght Junction-Banff; nach Südwesten Aberdeen-Ballater Kintore-Al-ford, Grange-Keith, von Keith über Dufftown-Craigellachi Junction, Rothes nach Elgin und von Craigellachi Junction nach Boat of Garten.

Die G. wurde mit Parlamentsakte vom Jahre 1846 errichtet, ursprünglich für eine Bahn von Aberdeen nach Inverness nebst Abzweigungen und das ganze Netz mit Akte vom 30. Juli 1866 vereinigt.

Das aufgewendete Kapital war Ende 1912 7∙6 Mill. (155∙0 Mill. M.).

Die Betriebseinnahmen betrugen 1912 0∙52 Mill. (10∙4 Mill. M.); hiervon kommen 0∙26 Mill. (5∙3 Mill. M.) auf den Personen-, Gepäck- und Parcelsverkehr, 0∙23 Mill. (4∙7 Mill. M.) auf den Güterverkehr.

Den Einnahmen stehen Ausgaben mit 0∙28 Mill. (5∙7 Mill. M.) gegenüber und stellte sich der Betriebskoeffizient auf 53%.
